1ENG High Performance Machining
Date of inception 01 January 1998
Leader: Pedro Jose Arrazola Arriola
Research Area: 1ENG Science, techonology and material transformation processes
The main objectives of Mondragon Unibertsitatea's High Performance Machining research group are to improve production processes by machining in different industrial sectors (automotive, aeronautics, medicine, machine tools, moulds and stampings...) and to generate ideas for manufacturing innovative products or entering new businesses and markets. The general strategy followed is to create, together with other lines of research at Mondragon Unibertsitatea, multidisciplinary teams made up of companies, research centres and universities, in order to provide an advanced scientific response to real industrial problems. The carrying out of projects for transfer to companies, together with the formal training of different qualifications (Doctorate, Engineering, Higher Level Training Cycles) and the teaching of advanced courses (Specialisation Workshops in Machining) or conferences (12th CIRP Conference on Modelling Machining Operations, 71st CIRP General Assembly, 5th CIRP Surface Integrity, 22nd International Conference on Material Forming-ESAFORM) are an example of how the knowledge acquired is passed on to society, helping to guarantee a more promising future for the machining sector.
