Abstract

In this study a corpus of children’s literature in Basque is examined from anintercultural standpoint. The aim has been to find whether the texts help to contribute to thedevelopment of intercultural skills to enable them to be used as a resource for interculturaleducation. To this end, it was imperative to compile a list of criteria to apply to children’sliterature and thus ascertain which of the texts met the requirements. The present research therefore involves selecting a corpus of children’s literature, devising criteria for analysis,applying the criteria to the corpus and drawing conclusions.
