Resum
Human-centered design tools aim a better understanding of the user so that designers visualize solutions that target real problems users have. In the healthcare sector, the patient experience is gaining importance as a way of fostering patient centeredness. The patient experience is characterized by (a) being a continuous experience over time of an especially emotional nature where (b) various agents operate in complex systems and (c) being constituted by the sum of all the specific interactions that the patient experiences throughout their journey. In this context, this article presents an identification and classification of Human-centered design tools that allows a deep understanding of the patient experience and its three key characteristics in order to be able to propose new technological solutions in the healthcare sector.
