Resumen

With the passage of time people deal with more and more information at work. As long as this information has been digitalized and, therefore, the distribution costs has been reduced, the volume has grown exponentially. Besides, the devices have increased their capacity. By these means, the message seems to be that is not necessary to delete anything. However, the feeling of «more is less» begins to be widespread. 5S is a methodology born in the manufacture environment by the hand of Toyota and aims to improve productivity in the working area. Nowadays, instead, the raw material is mostly information. So that, more than organizing physical elements properly it is necessary to organize digital formats of that information. The original concept of 5S have been adapted to give rise to a new methodology: digital 5S. The objective is, in both cases, the same: to improve productivity.
