Resumen

What is being proposed is transforming and innovative training from the University that will influence the professionalisation process of teachers. So it is important for this training to have its starting point in teaching practice. To get to know this starting point, one option is the use of teachers’ diaries. Each teacher records in his/her diary what he/she does to develop oral language, and on the basis of the analysis of these diaries, trainer-researchers can produce the initial diagnosis of the school. This paper reports on what was said in these diaries, to find out what the teachers at the seven schools analysed said about the didactics they employed in oral language development, and to find out what the starting point is for training in oral language didactics.
