Abstract

The behaviour of an automotive piece with noise insulation requirements from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment has been analyzed. The insulation (Transmission Loss, TL) of such a piece has been determined, experimentally, analytically using different models, and through simulation using the finite element method. The study has been done for diffuse incident field (reverberation chamber environment) and normal incident field (Kundt tube environment).
