Zusammenfassung

The amount of waste generated at the vehicles end of life is an issue that concerns to the European Commission. According to the Directive 2000/53/EC on end-of-life vehicles, since January 2006 the 80% of the vehicle�s weight has to be recyclable and reusable and the 85% has to be recoverable. By 2015, according the same directive, these targets should be 85% for recycle and reuse and 95% for recovery. The aim of this communication is to know the status of Spain regarding the rest of European countries to achieve the targets set by the Directive 2000/53/EC. Furthermore, the best end of life strategies will be identified.
