Abstract
Flexible roll forming process is a highly productive process for the production of not constant cross sections profiles. In the last years, few flexible roll forming lines have been developed and different authors have implemented different solutions in order to solve accuracy problems. However, the effectsof the different process parameters have not been investigated experimentally yet and the process limits areunknown. In the present work, the influence of flange length, material hardness, filled radius and the angle of the flexible part have been analyzed experimentally and numerically in order to analyze the effects of each variablein the final accuracy of the profile. For this purpose, a design of experiments has been performed and theeffect of each variable has been analyzed. Additionally, numerical results have been compared with experimental results in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the numerical model.
