Abstract

Understanding elastohydrodynamic lubrication is a fundamental objective in the study of bearing performance. Most of the research related to the experimental prediction of friction has been developed on a tribometer scale orbearing scale, but independently of each other. However, no method for experimental knowledge transfer betweenthe two scales has yet been developed. The aim of this work is to analyse the friction in rolling elementsexperimentally by correlating the tribometer and rolling scale, in order to better understand the related phenomenain the lubricated contact of bearings. It has been possible to verify similar trends between the curves of each scale.
